About Us

Pediatric Sleep Consultants

Do you feel exhausted all the time? Are you worried you may never sleep again? We know what that is like because, well, we were there!

Little Star Sleep Solutions emerged from our own struggles with our children's sleep and to reclaim time with our partners.

We strongly believe that there is no "one way"  of getting a child to sleep.  Just as every family is different, so is every sleep plan. We provide custom sleep plans for you and your family. We learn all we can about your family, your baby and your parenting style and together we will come up with a plan that will work for you!

Then, we support you through this change. As an exhausted parent, it's really easy to second guess every decision and worry that you are doing things "wrong". We will be with you every step of the way as we work through your customised plan and make changes as necessary. You will never have to wonder or guess what your next step will be, the plan will be completely clear and easy to follow. Read more about the team, below.

Alana & Wesley

Toronto, Ontario

"...Within days we saw progress both with naps and overnight. Wesley is now sleeping through the night, connecting his sleep cycles during naps and is an overall much happier and energetic little guy. Mom, Dad and our dog Jerry, are also much more rested thanks to Carrie’s help.

As my friend said when she recommended Little Star Sleep Solutions to me, “Carrie, ah...I love her,”  I would now have to agree and would recommend her services to anyone."

Christy & Finnegan

Edmonton, Alberta

"...Carrie was a pleasure to work with during this experience. She had a calm and professional demeanour, listened carefully, and effectively identified the issues that were contributing to Finnegan’s frequent wakings. Throughout our interactions, it was evident that Carrie has a wealth of knowledge about the natural development of sleep cycles in infants and it was, therefore, easy to trust in the plan she had developed for our son as we knew that it was grounded in sound science.

Finnegan is now sleeping through the night (!!) and has a regular nap routine, all thanks to Carrie and her sleep plan. We are so grateful for all of her help and highly recommend her services to others. Thank you Carrie!"

Veronique & Clara

Winnipeg, Manitoba

"...The best part about Little star sleep solutions is that Carrie is with you the entire way through, she does not stop until all of your sleeping goals are met! Our 6 month old is now sleeping beautifully and we are all happier and more rested! And the resources she leaves you with are fabulous and we feel ready to tackle all things sleep-related!..."

My Sleep Philosophy

Our  Sleep Philosophy

Whether you're a new parent just starting on your sleep journey, or you've been struggling with your child's sleep for years, We're here to help! We firmly believe that your plan needs to suit your parenting style, as such, we promise to never ask you to do something you're not comfortable with.

When parents entrust us as their child’s “sleep expert,” either through one-on-one consultations or seminars, they are placing a great deal of trust in us, and we take this responsibility very seriously.

While most books and programs dealing with child sleep issues take philosophical stands (based largely around the issue of “crying it out”), We believe that your child’s sleep is more important than my own personal views on this subject. That’s why our strategies place so much emphasis on accommodating different parenting styles. The bottom line is that you, as a parent, need to be comfortable with your new sleep plan in order for it to work for your child.

A Little Note About  “Cry It Out”

Crying relating to changes in sleep is something we get asked about every day. It deserves to be addressed here.

Please understand that we will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will we ask you to ignore their cries. The reason that our methods are so effective is that we develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child. We optimize your child’s schedule and choose the best method to minimize crying as much as possible. There are three particular areas we focus on to reduce the amount of fussing that may go on: timing the sleep appropriately, ensuring the routine is effective and responding in a helpful way.

If you have any questions at all about the philosophy behind our strategies, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
